It's time for sweater weather!
It's no secret that fall is our favorite season here at Country Living. The weather is cooler, the air is crisper, and everything is just a little bit cozier. To get in the spirit of the season, here are our favorite things to do that make fall so perfect.
1. Wrapping Yourself Up In A Warm Scarf
And beanies and mittens…
2. Drinking A Warm Mug Of Apple Cider
Nothing tastes more like fall then that first sip of warm apple cider.
3. Going Apple Picking
Head out on a mini road trip to the nearest orchard to pick fresh apples (and eat cider doughnuts!).
4. Picking Out The Perfect Pumpkin
The annual trip to the pumpkin patch is up there with apple picking.
5. Going Leaf Peeping
On your way home from the apple orchard or pumpkin patch, go ahead and take that detour to see all the beautiful fall foliage along the way.
6. Baking a Pie
Went apple picking? Figuring out all the recipes you can make using those fresh, juicy apples might be even more fun.
7. Wearing Anything Plaid
When it finally gets chilly nothing will brighten up your day like a colorful tartan coat. Bonus points if you have a plaid jacket for your dog to match your own.
8. Cooking Homemade Soup For Dinner
Switch out your go-to garden salad for something that will warm you up from the inside out like a bowl of homemade soup.
9. Eating All The Pumpkin Spice Flavored Food
Some people think that pumpkin spice-flavored foods have gone a little too far, but we can't help but enjoy how warm and cozy the quintessential fall flavor makes us feel.
10. Listening To The Rain On Your Roof
It's probably the most soothing sound in the world.
11. Staying Inside All Day
When it's too rainy or cold to get anything done outside, don't feel guilty about holing up inside all day. Lean into it and grab your thickest pair of socks and a warm cup of tea and take it easy.
12. Wrapping Yourself Up In A Knit Throw
Don't forget to take your thickest knit blankets out of storage as soon as the weather dips below 65 degrees.
13. Sitting In Front Of The Fire
Who needs Netflix when you can sit and watch the fire all night long?
14. Lighting Candles
Don't have a fireplace in your home? Lighting a bunch of candles is almost as cozy (especially if you make mini pumpkins into votive holders).
15. Wearing Your Favorite Sweater
A chunky wool sweater is the closest thing we can think of to a real-life hug.
16. Renting A Cabin In The Woods
Spring break and summer vacation are fun, but there's nothing cozier than renting a log cabin for a fall getaway.
17. Wearing L.L. Bean Duck Boots
We pretty much live for the first rainy day of the season so we can pull on our favorite pair of duck boots.
18. Drinking Hot Chocolate

Just remember to treat yourself to a warm cup of cocoa (with extra marshmallows!) once you return from all of your fall adventures outside.
